Week of Camp Floyd

Wow, is it Friday already!? This week flew by!

This week was filled with a lot of MAP testing and a lot of adventures. My favorite adventure was, of course, our field trip to Camp Floyd on Tuesday! It felt so good being outside all day and learning about our history here in Utah. I also enjoyed spending time with the students while attending each event. Here are some pictures I snapped while on the field trip:

This week I started my first science/social studies rotation with Ms. Myers' class. We just barely started talking about rocks and minerals and the Paleo-Indians. To explore rocks and minerals, we looked at Hershey's candy bars and Snickers to compare the two. We learned that the Paleo-Indians are the earliest known people in Utah. Paleo means ancient or very old (just like Yzma from Emperor's New Groove!)

In Language Arts, we are just about done writing our first opinion paper on our favorite treat. We finished our rough drafts and peer editing on Thursday and then we are going to write our final draft on Monday and then type it on Tuesday. I am so excited to go back to the computer lab and type these on our class blog!

Next week are SEPs!! I hope to see each and every one of you those days! Have a great weekend!
